Volunteering
One regular hour beats one big day
Walking, fostering, transport and admin. Regular beats occasional, every time.
The animals here need routine more than they need enthusiasm. Someone who comes for one hour every Saturday is worth more to a nervous dog than someone who comes for a full day once, because the dog learns to expect them.
What there is to do: walking dogs, sitting with cats that need to get used to people again, fostering at home, driving animals to and from appointments, photographing animals for their adoption listings, and the unglamorous admin that keeps the rest running.
We will ask about your availability and what you are comfortable with, and we will not put you with an animal you are not ready for. Being honest about that at the start is not a weakness, it is the whole point of asking.

Common questions
How much time do I need to give?
An hour a week, regularly, is genuinely useful. More is welcome but consistency matters more than volume.
I have no experience with animals.
That is fine and it is most people. We start you with calm animals and someone alongside you.
Can I foster if I already have pets?
Often yes, and it depends on your animals as much as ours. We talk it through before anything goes home with you.
