That second half is the part worth reading twice. The older habit was to give every vaccine every year regardless, and the current thinking is that some need repeating annually and some hold for longer. Which is which depends on the animal, its age and where it goes, so we go through the record rather than the calendar.
Bring whatever vaccination history you have, even if it is partial or from another clinic. A gap we know about is easy to work with; a gap we discover later means starting a course again.

Common questions
My animal has never been vaccinated.
That is common and it is fixable. An unvaccinated adult starts a first course rather than a booster, which is usually two visits a few weeks apart.
Is my animal safe to be around others straight after?
A vaccine takes time to work, so the protection is not immediate. We will tell you how long to wait for the specific one your animal was given.
