We provide referral service for diagnosis and treatment with X-ray and ultrasound. These tests may be offered to an outpatient service, or as part of patient treatment.
Imaging is not a test you pass or fail. It answers a specific question the examination has already raised, which is why it follows a consultation rather than replacing one: an image with no question behind it is a picture, not a diagnosis.
Most animals need to be still for the few seconds an image takes. Sedation is sometimes the kindest way to get that, sometimes not needed at all, and we would rather explain which before the day than surprise you on it.

Common questions
Can I just book a scan?
Not on its own. The value of an image is the question it answers, so it comes after an examination that raises one.
Will my animal be sedated?
Sometimes. It depends on the animal and on what has to be imaged, and we will tell you which before the day rather than on it.
